The four pre-war tenement houses to be conserved and revitalised for adaptive reuse
Nestled in the heart of Wanchai, J Senses is a unique dining and lifestyle complex where history is honoured and modernity is embraced. The dazzling new landmark of Wanchai is developed by K. Wah Real Estates with a focus on conservation and revitalisation of historical buildings. This one-of-a-kind project preserves the beauty of the heritage and injects new life in it for adaptive reuse. Four Chinese-style pre-war tenement houses on 60A-66 Johnston Road and 18 Ship Street, where used to house the well-known Woo Cheong Pawn Shop, the Hong Kong Yu Clansman Association and Hop Yuen Construction Company, are conserved and intergrated into a cosmopolitan hot spot.

Historical features of the buildings, such as the French windows, the inscribed Chinese names of Woo Cheong Pawn Shop and the Hong Kong Yu Clansman Assoclation on the façade, are gracefully preserved, whereas the verandahs facing Johnston Road are incorporated to enhance the overall structural integrity of the complex. With the historic and the contemporary blend harmoniously together, the result is a living heritage capturing both the spirit of Wanchai's ever-changing cityscape and of modern living.

This impressive salute to profound history and cosmopolitan lifestyle is all set to tantalise your senses with an exquisite selection of international gourmet, local delicacies, cafés and even alfresco dining. So, what are you waiting for?
